It was a beautiful, sunny morning in Milang on Sunday the 26th of January, when families and team mates went about setting up their boats and then launched them into the water, along with their hopes and dreams. In amongst this hive of activity our eager photographers arrived, said their hellos, then talked about the boats, weather and the heavenly sparkle from the sun on the lake.
As the morning aged and the boats continued to enter the water, we descended down onto the foreshore and jetty and eagerly awaited the sound of the gun blasting off to start the first race. It was with a loud BANG that the race began, not only for the boats, but for every camera shutter in the area ! When we had filled our camera cards up snapping away, it was decided it was time for our fill. We had a great Brunch, cooked on the Webber (Thanks Sue, Mike and Steve), we ate in a great spot that we found on the foreshore under a shady tree with a wonderful view. Whilst eating, we were finally, formally introduced by Mike the proud father, to his baby, the newest arrival in our big family of photography, his new tripod, which he very ably demonstrated to us. Not only did this tripod hold a camera like a near mortal tripod, but did it with style and at any level or angle !
After we'd had our fill, body and soul, plus an education with an unexpected workshop, we gradually left for home and agreed it had been another enjoyable and successful outing.
