Evan Laslett Memorial Shield
The Evan Laslett Story.
Founding President of the South Coast Camera Club (v3) in 1975. Mr Laslett, a Uniting Church Minister, set up the club with such a methodical and evangelical zeal that is has endured and evolved to this day. Mr Laslett won awards at club, state and national levels, organised exhibitions, excelled in communication and was a popular photography judge, inspiring the membership with his work.
Mr Laslett excelled in Nature Photography but his Social Documentary Photography was something special, cutting through any social, political or cultural barriers and spoke, without words, of his great love for mankind.
"Although humanity has lost a great man his spirit will live on at the camera club and among all those priveleged to have known him" Don Cannan. 2004.
